Many of you know my son Matthew is involved with the St Baldrick’s Foundation. This was Matthew’s third year getting his head shaved and collecting money to help find a cure for kids with cancer. This year however we got invited to go to the St Louis St. Patrick’s Day Parade and help fly Lucky the St Baldrick’s mascot balloon.

We had a blast. It was cold but once we started moving and got in line for the procession the excitement really warmed us up. Especially all the ones that kept spinning the balloon. Neither Matthew or I had ever been in a parade before especially one that had thousands of people standing on the sides on looking the event. It was a privilege to be able to hand out so many informational packets about St Baldrick’s and I hope to see more and more people get involved and start coming out to help fly Lucky. It was even more a privilege to stand by my son and so many others that really have a heart for this foundation and what they stand for. Meeting them and sharing in their company was enough to keep me smiling till next years parade. Where I look forward to seeing them again.

Here are some pics from the event.
